BRAKES
In this session we will go through an insightful overview of the big three light duty diesel engines: Powerstroke, GM Duramax, and Ram Cummins. We will be sharing our common field experiences with issues on these trucks. Some of the key topics for this seminar are: • Maintenance - Good maintenance habits, following the OEM procedures, and educating our customers. • Fuel Injection Systems – Review of the fuel systems, generational changes in light duty diesel pickup trucks, and failure analysis of key components within the fuel system. • Aftertreatment Systems – What to look for when diagnosing the aftertreatment system and common issues technicians encounter in the field. • Diagnostic tips – Diagnostic tips that the OEM may not give you. Understanding Braking Technology 2/8/25, Class #230 1:30-4:30 pm
Participants will learn recommended practices and tips for successful brake service, understand the functioning of hydraulic brake systems, and acquire skills for diagnosing brake-related issues. Additionally, the course covers the diagnosis and servicing of Anti-Lock Brake Systems (ABS) and delves into the impact of wheel and braking forces on traction control systems. Participants will also explore how wheel speed, lateral acceleration, yaw rate, and steering angle sensors influence a vehicle’s performance and the operation of Electronic Stability Control (ESC).
