Gasoline Direct Injection 2/8/25, Class #116 8:30-11:30 am
Variable Valvetrain Technology 2/8/25, Class #129 8:30-11:30 am This session covers variable valvetrain technologies used by the major automotive manufacturers. These Active and Dynamic Fuel Management techniques are now used throughout the industry and understanding their operation, diagnosis, and repair is critical for automotive repair professionals. Seminar content includes function and operation of variable valve timing, lift, and duration and their effect on engine performance and emissions. Additional topics include, the knowledge, skills, and procedures required to correctly diagnose and repair these advanced automotive systems. Many Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) will be highlighted. Upon completion of this seminar, participants will be able to apply knowledge of the following topics to diagnose and repair VVT systems: • The principles of operation of Variable Valve Timing (VVT), Variable Valve Lift (VVL), and Variable Valve Duration (VVD) systems • The principles of operation of continuous variable valve actuation system • Variable valvetrain system diagnostic and service procedures • Removal and installation of variable timing, lift, and duration system components Presented by: ACDelco Speaker: Rob Roth
This session provides an overview of Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) fuel system design, operation, and servicing. Diagnosing and servicing of GDI fuel systems requires an understanding of fuel delivery systems. This course covers the operation of gasoline high-pressure systems and low-pressure systems as related to the GDI system. Direct fuel injectors, fuel control systems and combined direct and port fuel injection systems are discussed. Diagnosis and service procedures using scan tools and special tools required for servicing GDI systems
will also be discussed. Presented by: ACDelco Speaker: Jerry Tempel
