At Tully Luxury Travel, we help you create life-changing experiences rooted in meaning, beauty, and connection.

tanding just feet away from a silverback gorilla is nothing short of transcendent. It’s a visceral blend of exhilaration and reverence—an encounter so rare, it imprints on your soul. Few experiences rival the intensity of locking eyes with one of the world’s most endangered, awe-inspiring creatures in its natural realm. Deep in Rwanda’s emerald jungles, you’ll hear them before you see them. A rustle in the canopy, the shift of shadows—and then, they emerge. A regal silverback, flanked by his family, moves through the forest with an elegance that defies their size. They are unbothered by your presence, as if you’ve momentarily earned your place in their world. For one unforgettable hour, time suspends. You watch them forage, groom, doze in the undergrowth—every gesture a reminder of our shared lineage. Gorilla trekking is unlike any other wildlife experience. Led by expert guides and trackers, you’ll hike through dramatic terrain, perhaps encountering multiple families. Towering males exude quiet authority, mothers cradle their young with instinctual tenderness, and infants tumble joyfully through the brush. Their presence feels deeply familiar, their expressions uncannily human. Afterward, return to your luxury lodge—an oasis of serenity tucked in the highlands. Soak in a private plunge pool, indulge in a spa ritual, or simply sip wine while gazing at mist-covered peaks. A breathtaking moment captured in the heart of the wild.

Tully Tips

Permits cost $1,500 per person for one hour per day, but witnessing mountain gorillas in the wild is truly priceless. With only a limited number issued daily, it remains one of the world’s rarest and most moving wildlife encounters. Based on firsthand experience, we recommend two days of trekking: the first encounter often feels surreal—a blur of awe, adrenaline, and disbelief. The second allows for a more grounded, immersive connection, offering time to observe behaviors, notice subtle interactions, and truly feel present with these magnificent creatures.

Modern design meets the wild—serenity with a view.

30

Travel with Purpose

At Tully, we believe how you travel matters—seeking out the thoughtful, the purposeful, and the often-overlooked. Luxury is richer when it uplifts.

Luxury That Gives Back

Ethical Wildlife Experiences

Local, Heartfelt Luxury

In Kenya or Tanzania , pair luxury safaris with visits to conservation projects—like rhino sanctuaries or schools supported by the lodge. These efforts protect wildlife and uplift local communities. In Thailand , ethical elephant sanctuaries (no rides) let guests support rescued elephants in natural, respectful environments.

Sometimes, the most meaningful moments are the simplest—a seaside lunch at a family-run taverna in Greece , where grandma still stirs the pot; a walk through a vineyard where sustainability is passed down like a recipe. A tailor-made itinerary that honors not just where you are, but whom you support along the way.

From artisan collectives to cooking schools, choosing women-led experiences is a powerful way to travel with purpose. In Morocco , visit argan oil cooperatives, ceramic studios, or weaving workshops run by local women— offering both handcrafted treasures and meaningful connection. In India , shop at social enterprises training women in embroidery and block printing, or dine at cafés run by survivors of gender- based violence—where resilience becomes inspiration. In Jordan , join a female-led cooking class in a Bedouin village or explore boutiques supporting women artisans reviving ancestral crafts.

Gentle hands, wild heart. Nourishing the future, one bottle at a time.

The Tully Difference Elevating Expectations

t Tully Luxury Travel, it’s the rare moments that leave the deepest mark. Here, we share two that moved us—and our clients—beyond words.

Inspirations

“To stand beside a wild elephant as it’s gently collared for conservation is to witness the raw beauty of nature—and the responsibility we hold to protect it. In that moment, you’re not just observing wildlife… you’re part of its future.” — MARY JEAN TULLY

38

39

Inspirations

This was more than a moment—it was a reminder of why I do what I do. It’s these kinds of experiences we dream of crafting for our clients: rare, raw, and deeply meaningful. Imagine sharing something like this with your loved ones—not just observing, but contributing. With firsthand knowledge of what’s possible, I’d be honored to help create something this powerful for you.

The Grumeti Fund, working alongside Singita, has become one of Africa’s great conservation success stories. With over 165 team members collaborating with local residents, they’ve transformed once-barren plains into a thriving sanctuary teeming with life.

40

This was truly one of the most extraordinary and humbling experiences of my life. While on safari at Singita, I had the rare chance to take part in a hands-on conservation initiative in Tanzania that forever changed how I see the world. In partnership with the Grumeti Fund, I joined a team of veterinarians and wildlife experts to collar six elephants in just two days—playing an active role in their protection. From holding an elephant’s trunk open so it could breathe while sedated, to scanning its body for poison arrows with a handheld metal detector, every moment was raw, real, and unforgettable. At one point, I even had my arm inside an elephant’s mouth, measuring its teeth—a moment so surreal I still can’t believe it happened. You can see the video on my Instagram, but truly, words don’t do it justice.

These GPS collars are essential. They allow the Grumeti team to track elephant movements and step in before conflicts arise—helping prevent devastating encounters with nearby farms. It’s a powerful example of how thoughtful conservation can protect both wildlife and communities.
