Colette Louise
card of the week
Five of Swords This card looks a little ominous and confrontational, and it certainly can be. I was sorely tempted to slip it back into the deck and try again but that would be cheating wouldn’t it. Each of the cards has something to say, whether we want to listen or not. The largest character in the forefront has a smirk on his face as he gathers the surrendered swords. The people leaving look beaten and dejected. Smirking guy doesn’t seem to really care how he won just as long as he did. Shesh, who invited Uncle (fill in with appropriate name here) to Thanksgiving Dinner! In an effort to be heard, we can sometimes be really loud and aggressive thinking we are being bold and assertive. I’m having flashbacks to the vaccine debates between friends and families over the last few years. At what cost to our relationships did some of those impassioned debates lead to? Words have been said that can’t be unsaid, or maybe a competition has been won using methods that were below the belt. Ish, thank goodness I don’t drink wine while cooking that holiday dinner anymore is all I can think of when I see the Five of Swords!! If you have said something that makes you feel icky when you think about it then say you’re sorry, it’s not rocket science. Texting with sad face emoji’s is not a proper apology, just sayin. If everything is peachy with your conscience and someone is making an attempt to make amends put down your halo and open the door a crack, we have all been on both sides of this card. ”
