Christian faith. I never heard any thing about what Christ had done for me. Those who sought to teach me the ways of the church were ignorant of what Christ had accom plished; Mormons do not know the joy of sins forgiven. I held a priest hood in the Mormon church, and being taught their doctrines, I came to see that the system was not in any way connected with the Gospel. After much prayer and study, I finally found my way hack to Christ and gained the peace I was missing and now I have joy in serving the Lord instead of being guided by the whims of mere men. If any member of the Mormon church reads this article, let me plead with him in his own spiritual interest to make an investigation of this church and not to accept blind ly the teaching that the Mormon church is “ the true church upon the earth” as most Mormons do. I say this with a heart full of concern. Having been a Mormon myself, I can testify with all soberness of mind that which I have said is most cer tainly true. CULTS CRITIQUE by B etty Brueehert

THE BIBLE The Bible contains the mind of God, the state of man; the way of salvation, the doom of sinners, and the happiness of believers. Its doc trines are holy, its precepts are bind ing, its histories are true and its decisions are immutable. Read It to be wise, believe It to be safe and practice it to be holy. It contains light to direct you, food to support you and comfort to cheer you. It is the traveler's map, the soldier's sword and the Christian's charter. Here Paradise is restored, Heaven opened and the gates of Hell disclosed. Christ is its grand subject, our good the design and the glory of God its end. It should fill the memory, rule the heart and guide the feet. Read it slowly, frequently and prayerfully. It is a mine of wealth, a paradise of glory and a river of pleasure. It is given you in life, will be opened at the judgment and will be remembered forever. It involves the highest re sponsibility, will reward the greatest labor and will condemn all who trifle with its sacred contents. — E. P. Williams

TEST IMONY OF A N EX-MORMON PRIEST

I T w a s in d e e d a most unfortunate day for me when I came into the membership of the Mormon church for in so doing I lost sight of the cross of Calvary and of Christ who died there in order to pay the penal ty of my sins. In 1962, I was in the hospital with a serious injury and through a tract given to me I came to understand the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and that very night asked Him to forgive my sins and come into my heart as Saviour and Lord. I regret to say, however, that I did not find equating the Scriptures to every day living particularly easy and I be came restless. Eventually I was en snared by the Mormon church. Because I had experienced the Gospel before joining the Mormons, I began to notice after a time that something was lacking. I did not possess the joy associated with the
