The Friday night class, conducted by Messrs. Tucker and Hadden, bids fair to become the largest of all oi our popu- lar gatherings. With two such teach- ers and the great themes they are pre- senting, the Auditorium ought to be filled.
GROWTH OF LIBERAL THEOLOGY.
Andover Theological Seminary (or- thodox Congregational) was recently absorbed, with its large endowment, by Harvard University (Unitarian), since which time its development has beeu phenomenal; indeed, well on to 100 per cent. That is to say, it had three students when it was absorbed, and at the last account it had five.—Christian Workers' Magazine. Palestine is rapidly becoming a Jew- ish province. Four-fifths of the popula- tion of Jerusalem are now Tews. Al- most the whole of the plain of Esdrae- lon has been bought by Tews, and there are Jewish colonics from Dan to Beer- sheba. The Jordan valley, once the. property of the deposed Turkish Sultan, is invaded by Jewish capitalists, wao are seeking to buy all the land. Beth- lehem, Nazareth and Gaza, which a few years ago were closed to Tews, now have Tewish quarters and synagogues. Thousands of .Jews are entering the eourtry from Persia, and everv steam- er from Odessa carries Tews from Bus- sia to the ancient home of their race. A Zionist banking eomoany is doing all m its power to encourage the migra- tion.
