Dear Willowbrook Friends and Neighbors, As the golden hues of autumn approach, I’m filled with immense pride and gratitude as I reflect on the vibrant spirit that fuels our Parks and Recreation Department. This fall, we invite you to rediscover the joy of connection, adventure, and wellness through the many exciting programs, events, and travel opportunities designed with you in mind. This year, we continue to build on our mission of providing inclusive, enriching, and memorable experiences for all. Whether you’re exploring new cultures through Bites Around the World, dancing along to the soulful sounds at Soul Thankful, or joining the fun at our festive Celebration of the Season, there’s truly something for everyone. Our active adult travel program remains a cornerstone of adventure and community. Trips like The Lion King on Broadway, The Mob, the Music and the Money in Lake Geneva, and our enchanting Afternoon Delight outing are just a few of the many excursions that have brought joy, laughter, and unforgettable memories to our patrons. If you haven’t joined us yet, this is the perfect season to come aboard and experience the magic. None of this would be possible without our exceptional staff, whose creativity, care, and dedication elevate every program. I want to extend a heartfelt recognition to Teresa Mrozik, our Superintendent of Senior Services. Teresa’s vision, leadership, and unwavering commitment to excellence have transformed our active adult programming into one of the most robust, innovative, and beloved offerings in the region. Her thoughtful approach and compassionate spirit have made a lasting difference. Simply put, Teresa embodies the heart of our department. As we head into the cozy months of fall, we hope you’ll take the time to invest in yourself—whether that’s enjoying a Cup of Joe with new friends, attending one of our inspiring historical seminars, or exploring new sights and tastes on one of our many fall excursions. These moments, shared in community, are what make Willowbrook feel like home. Thank you for being an essential part of what makes our Parks and Recreation Department thrive.
