A MESSAGE FROM HEAD OF YEAR 7
It has been such a busy half term with lots of activities that Year 7 have been involved in and we are delighted that they really do “throw themselves into the life of the school.” This week the Year 7/8 Rounders Rounders team won their league fixture against Richmond Upon Thames school by 12-11, well done all who played. Unfortunately the Year 7 Cricket team lost their first league match against Orleans Park with a score of 47-57 runs but they played really well as a team in this match.
The U13 Cricket tournament was cancelled due to the weather so there’s no report this week, but it will be played after half term and we will share the news with you all.
Students have had the opportunity to name the new school minibus, we look forward to sharing the winning name after half term.
This week I thought I’d update you with our Year group total. Year 7 top the table with a whopping 17,794 (when writing this report!) That is amazing, well done Year 7.
We hope that everyone has an enjoyable half term. When we return on Monday 2nd June Year 7 have parent tours, Sports day, planning a fundraising activity for the new school mini-bus and a Cultural afternoon as some of the activities to look forward to.
Have a lovely break!

BOOK OF THE MONTH
‘The Princess and the Suffragette’ by Holly Webb This is a truly inspirational book about the struggles for women and children in the early 1900s. Set in 1913, the book revolves around the suffragette movement, a campaign group active from 1903 to 1914 which used direct action to advance their aim of achieving women’s suffrage (the right to vote) in the United Kingdom. The book describes the difference in lifestyle for the poor and the rich, covering relatable topics such as divorce and adoptions. I loved how relatable all the characters were and it has slowly become one of my favourite novels of all time! I suggest this book to any historical drama fans, comedy and even non-fiction lovers. Read this if you enjoyed the ‘Rebel Girl’ series or ‘Secretly a suffragette’. I absolutely recommend this book to all ages!
