We hope to keep you updated on our latest activities and provide you with vital information about our hotel through this edition of Spandana.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our team member’s for your hard work, dedication and commitment throughout the year. You are clearly a testament of the Shangri-La spirit that it is to be selfless and sincere with our unique hospitality that comes straight from the heart.
I am very excited about the journey ahead of us as our team is not only a team of strong professionals but also a team with a big heart.

World Quality Month Is Celebrated Every Year In The Month Of November. The Concept Is To Focus On The Importance Of Quality In The Attainment Of Guest Satisfaction.
For World Quality Month November 2018 We Had Organized The Below Activities.
• Quality Video Competition- Each Department Was Asked To Make A Video Of How Best They Display Quality In Their Areas. Front Office Won & Housekeeping Were The Runners Up • Slbl Knowledge Challenge- We Held 3 Rounds Through The Course Of The Month At Café Suggi. With The Help Of Mentimeter We Held A Quiz Based On Hotel Facts To Check The Knowledge Of Our Colleagues & Crown Our Winners.

About 400 colleagues joined us in the session. Excom members and other departmental managers discussed about the revenue and performance of the hotel. A few announcements from HR were also made regarding the upcoming employment activities. Long service awards were given away to deserving employees.

AUGUST 2018
Turbans were tied to the colleagues to spread the patriotic feeling. Followed by Flag hoisting. The event ended on positive note by distributing books to the children from Angel’s orphanage.

Funds were collected from colleagues at SLBL and donated towards Kerala and Karnataka flood relief .
All unused items kept in the back area, donations from guest and goods contributed from colleagues, were put up for sale for in house colleagues at reasonable prices.

Sponsorship cheques for 3 kids was handed over to Sabina as school fees payment for the academic year 2018-19 .
The kids were taken on a fun trip to HAL Aerospace Museum.
They were happy and excited during the entire journey and found the visit to be a wonderful and enriching experience. Books were gifted to the children.

28 children on the eve of Diwali were taken to Martins farm. The kids had an introduction to various animals and got to pet them too!
Children were welcomed to spend some quality time with our employees. This was a favorable time for the children to sell a few of their home made crafts. The kids even took part in the rangoli competition by forming a team of their own and by helping other volunteers!

SLBL donated a sum of ₹ 96,800 to sponsor one year education of 2 children from our Embrace Beneficiary – Angel’s Orphanage.

ANGEL'S ORPHANAGE KIDS WERE TAKEN TO MANTRI MALL ON 26 TH DECEMBER 2018. THE KIDS WERE TAKEN FOR LUNCH AT THE FOOD COURT FOLLOWED BY A SHOPPING SESSION FOR BUYING DRESSES AND ACCESSORIES.

free day
A week long campaign to create awareness about the cons of usage of plastic bag among guests and colleagues encouraging them to break free from plastic
Nearly one third of the plastic packaging used escapes collection systems, which means that it ends up clogging the drains and polluting environment.

A 400 kgs astonishing cake was baked on this day. The amount that it was sold for was donated for the treatment of children suffering from eye cancer.
A total of Rs 1, 92,000 was donated for the children with eye cancer treatment

Global Wellness Day was celebrated on 12 th June 2018 with Zumba and Yoga.
Enthusiastic Employees along with the kids from Angels’ Orphanage had a relaxing Yoga session followed by a fun-filled Zumba session.

One of the biggest obstacles for busy workers is finding the time to actually exercise. That’s why we had fitness sessions for employees and help them realize the importance of physical and mental health.
