a very good friend, is really a living object lesson. He has some very fine characteristics. Let us look at this list of a few of therti, and then ask ourselves the following questions: 1. A dog is faithful to his master. Am I faithful to Christ, my Master? 2. A dog is obedient to his master. Am I obedient to Christ and my parents? 3. A dog is loving toward his friends. Am I loving and kind toward my friends? 4. A dog can be trusted. Am I trust worthy? Am I'honest and fair in my school life, and at home? 5. A dog is ever guarding against harm. Am I alert and watching to see that Satan does not enter my heart, and seek to harm my life? 6 i A dog has sharp ears. Are my ears ready to listen to Christ when He speaks to me? 7. A dog many times braves real danger to carry out the commands of his master. Am I brave in my testi mony for Christ? Or am I afraid to speak of Him to my friends for fear they will laugh at me? 8 . A dog can be trained. Now is the time when I am being trained for future service for Christ. Am I keep ing my prayer time, and learning my Bible verses so that I will be ready for His use? Perhaps you can think of some other characteristics of a dog. If so, you might make a list of them, and see what you can learn from them. Good News, for Mrs. Randall By BETHEL FRANCE*

“ Are you quite sure he was really saved?” “Oh, yes, Mrs.- Randall,” the other teacher broke in to say, “ Jimmy gave his testimony at the Club, and brought friends in so they could hear the gos pel, too! I’m sure Jimmy was born again. He was quiet and shy, and probably was waiting for a good op portunity to tell you.” Mrs. Randall’s eyes were filled with tears—tears of joy. “I can’t tell you two friends how much this means to me,” she said. “The hardest thing about losing Jimmy was the thought that he wasn’t saved. I can never thank you enough for what you have done for him and for his father and me. I want to have a part now in ¿his work, and do all I can so that other boys and girls can find the Lord Jesus, too.” An Alphabet of Praise Thanksgiving Day c o m e s next month. It is a day in which all Chris tians especially praise and thank our Lord for His wonderful blessings. To memorize an alphabet of praise and thanksgiving Bible verses would be a fine thing to do, would it not?' Then, we could express our feelings to the Lord in words from His own sacred Book, the Bible. Here is the first half of the alpha bet. Try to have each verse perfectly learned by the time you receive your November issue of THE KING’S BUSI NESS. The remainder of the alphabet will appear in that number. A “All thy .vorks shall praise thee, " O Lord” (Psa. 145:10). B “Bless the Lord, O my- soul” (Psa. 103:2). C “Come, let us sing unto the Lord” (Psa.'95:1). T \ “Declare his glory among the J-' heathen, his wonders among all people” (Psa. 96:3). T7 1 “Enter into his gates with thanks- J-J giving, and into his courts with praise:, be thankful unto him, and bless his name” (Psa. 100:4). F “Forget not all his benefits” (Psa. 103:2). G “ Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised” (Psa. 145:3). H “He giveth to the beast his food” (Psa. 147:9). I “I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people” (Psa. 108:3). J “Just and true are thy ways” (Rev. 15:3). K “Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves” (Psa. 100:3). L “Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lcrd. Praise ye, the Lord” (Psa. 150:6).-

“If I could only get away for a while,” Mrs. Randall thought, “ away from home and everything that re minds me of Jimmy.” Less than a week earlier, Jimmy had been dashing home from school with the boys, hurrying to get to a favorite game. There had been an accident, and within a few hours, Jimmy’s life had slipped away.

“He went so quickly!” His mother exclaimed now to- herself. “ If I had Only known, I would have talked to him about his need of the Saviour.” It was early, afternoon when the doorbell rang and she remembered the two teachers who had asked to call that afternoon. Mrs. Randall told herself that she must be careful to let them see only that their loving interest was understood and appreci ated. She noticed how eager they looked as she invited them in. “Mrs. Randall,” Miss Spencer began, “we have something to tell you that twe think you should know—some thing that will make you very glad.” “What is it?” “Well, as you know, I was Jimmy’s teacher in the Neighborhood' Bible Club,” Miss Spencer continued. “He ' attended faithfully all this year.” “Yes,” the mother replied, “Jimmy told me he was going to loin the Bible Club, and he seemed fo enjoy it very much.” . “ But what we wanted to tell you,” went on Miss Spencer, “was that Jimmy accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at one of the recent Club meetings.” *Secretary of the Child Evangelism Fellow ship of Southern California.
