King's Business - 1920-12

THE K I N G ’ S BUS I NESS people—the fruit of His loving, sacri ficial death upon the cross. The separa tion is going on now. The tares, Sa tan’s children, are flocking together. They will be joined io the Antichrist in tha last days. “Bundles for the burn ing.” Every cult is a “bundle” gath ered for burning. Only our Lord is capable of making the final separation. We can separate ourselves from the devil’s children and are so commanded. (2 Cor. 6:17). “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.” We can warn the church (Col? 1:28) and the world “Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man, in all wis dom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.” concerning Satan’s secret and devilish work and that is commanded in Acts 20:31, bufi the Lord of the harvest is alone capable of making the eternal separation, and He will do it, and that is the fearful force of this lesson. The longer the children of the devil live and serve him here, the greater will be their punishment, and the longer we who are children of God live in indiffer ence and idleness, the greater will be our eternal loss in heaven. Don’t for get it. Make it plain, teacher! The harvest tells the story, for all (Psa. 126: 6 ) . “He that goetli forth and weepeth bearing precious seed, will doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.” (Gài. 6:7). “Be not deceived;. God is not mocked; for whatsoever a man soweth that shall he also reap.” The end of the age draws near. The reapers are ready with the sickles. Bun dles are being gathered. The furnace is ready for the burning. There will be no better world, but worse and worse grows the sinful, world. The Lord will come and gather His own to Himself (1 Thess. 4:16, 17).

publicly profess our faith. We gladly rally to His standard, i. The devil sows tares. He follows the sower of good seed with his basket 01 tares. It is well to emphasize this,, and be on the lookout for the devil’s agents. Tares are the children of the wicked one. “Ye are of your father the devil,” said our Lord. The devil is on the job day and night. In olden times these sons of the devil were called “sons of Belial.” The Lord calls them “ser pents” and “vipers” (Matt. 23:33). Cain was a child of the devil and the first sown of tares (1 John 3:12). “Not as Cain who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And where fore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother’s righteous.” (3) THE TWO SEEDS. The two seeds are distinguished by' 1 John 3:10: “In this the children' of God are manifest and the children of the devil; whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.” The Lord has His own way in sowing the seed. In the early church it was by persecution (Acts 8:1). There can be no increase excepting by the natural law of God—sowing the seed. ' Bear in mind that the field is the world, not the church. Both tares and wheat grow -together in the world until the harvest. . When the enemy sowed his seed, he slipped away (v. 25). The- devil is slippery. He works secretly. Works in the dark. He is always at work, and always doing the same devilish work, sowing the seed of doubt, unbelief and denial. Some of his seed are highly cul tured, like Satan himself. College pro fessors, preachers and teachers, and false disciples are his best product ana bring the largest harvest. (4) THE SEPARATE HARVESTS. The natural law of God is seen in the conclusion of seed-sowing. What is the purpose of seed-sowing? A harvest. What is the Lord’s purpose? A bride and a body for His Son—a heavenly
