VISIONARY TRAINERS TRANSFORMING HOSPITALITY

Leading Out of the Red Zone with Keynote Elizabeth Lombardo Expanding Perspectives and Leading Change at CHART 106

She’s a motivational speaker, a peak performance psychologist, and reformed perfectionist. We’ve booked her! Elizabeth Lombardo will help us stop stressing out and start moving forward. Being in the Red Zone, or high levels of distress, leads to poor performance, productivity, and profitability. With 91% of workers reporting

unmanageable stress, most of those you train are in the Red Zone. A red-zone brain cannot effectively learn or apply new concepts, making your job as a hospitality trainer even harder. In this highly engaging presentation, you will gain breakthrough, science-driven insights on recognizing and leading out of the Red Zone, so your teams can tap into peak performance—and turn stress into success. Join us in Chicago this summer! Registration is open now at CHART.org.

Regional Training Forum (RTF) | 2.7.24

Inspire Brands hosted the first Atlanta RTF of the year, teaming up with the Multicultural Foodservice Hospitality Alliance (MFHA) Roundtables. The event kicked off with an Employee Resource Group (ERG) discussion, where ERG leaders shared how their companies have established, sustained, and fostered these groups. Special thanks to Atlanta RTF director, Matt Kubarek, for helping promote this event to regional CHART members!

PresidenTalks Prism of Possibilities

Those who are involved in developing others, whether as trainers, mentors, managers, or leaders, play a crucial role in shaping the growth and potential of those under their guidance. However, it is equally important for these developers to invest time and effort in their own personal and professional development. We saw this play out firsthand at our Prism of Possibilities winter competencies conference in Charlotte, NC. Talent development is not merely about identifying abilities; it is a dynamic process of nurturing, refining, and expanding those abilities to their fullest extent. Each of CHART’s conferences recognize that every individual possesses a unique combination of

talents waiting to be explored and cultivated. Our theme, Prism of Possibilities, recognizes that talent is not developed in isolation but within a complex web of relationships, organizations, and systems. Our speakers, vendor partners, members, and attendees take you out of that isolation and provide a kaleidoscope of skills, passions, and capacities waiting to be honed and unleashed. And, as you connect with others, you realize that setbacks are seen not as failures, but as opportunities for reflection and refinement. Those who develop others must recognize the importance of investing in their own development. By doing so, they not only enhance their effectiveness and relevance, but also serve as inspirational leaders, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth within their organizations and our industry. Ultimately, the journey of self-development enables developers to better support and empower those they guide, paving the way for collective success and fulfillment. Best Wishes,

Damian Hanft

It was quite the show after the competency pin celebration as attendees had a chance to compete against each other in The Game Show Source’s “Survey Says” Family Feud-style game and “In It To Win It.” The Game Show Source is based in Florida but provides entertainment for events across the country. Sardek Love’s keynote proved that if you want people to be engaged, you need to give them a chance to connect with each other.
