“Sustainability will be our biggest challenge. Not because we do not have the intent but because of the limitations of geography and resources. I think a quarterly zoom check-in would be the most realistic way to stay connected. Also, one collaborative, travelling show a year would be a mutually beneficial way to maintain a working relationship.”

“Should RAC continue? YES! As I think about this three-year process and how enriching it has been for all of us, how do we sustain this? The model for RAC was that there was a grant and leadership to assist with sustaining the meeting coordination and the process. It also requires commitment from the member organizations to join in, participate, and continue to participate. This was accomplished in spite of the tight budgets of the member organizations and the time limitations— both professional and personal — of each participating member. This was hard. RAC worked! We all learned and improved. We had seed money and the leadership from AAM. How could we sustain this without the money and leadership? I am unsure.”

“Our traveling art show with Gunnison and Salida is planned for Fall 2022 and depending on its success we hope to continue it in the future. I also plan to work with Tracy to get the exhibit launched for migrant worker photography that could travel the state. I have already discussed this with the Heritage Museum in Buena Vista, and they are anxious to schedule this exhibit.”

“I think it is important to form and define strong relationships with school districts in our region. It is also important to learn about the barriers that are keeping your underserved populations from participating in your events and then finding solutions with these barriers in mind.”
“We hope that there will be a continuation of Rural Arts Connect so that the members of the council can continue to share experiences and receive advice from other members.”
