On your way back from the Gamzigrad site, be sure to stop by the nearby town of Zaječar, where the National Museum preserves the most beau- tiful frescoes and mosaics from Fe- lix Romuliana. Mediana Mediana was once a luxurious suburb of the ancient city of Nais- sus, which was constructed during the reign of Constantine the Great as a residence where kings would stay during visits to the city. Around eighty buildings of ancient Mediana have been discovered to date, most of which are adorned with rich and well-preserved mosaics. The largest private Roman baths on the terri- tory of Serbia, covering an area of more than 1,200 square metres, were uncovered on the territory of the Mediana Archaeological Park. The monumental ancient bathhouse, which was built in the 4 th century AD, had bathing pools with hot and cold water, underfloor heating, mo- saics, frescoes and sculptures, while a hallway connected it to a luxury villa with peristyle columns on this

Medijana Medijana, nekada raskošno predgrađe antičkog grada Naisu- sa, izgrađena je za vreme vladavine Konstantina Velikog kao reziden- cija u kojoj su odsedali kraljevi pri- likom poseta ovom gradu. Do da- nas je otkriveno oko 80 građevina antičke Medijane, koju najviše kra- se bogati i dobro očuvani mozaici. Najveće privatne rimske terme na teritoriji Srbije, koje se prostiru na površini većoj od 1.200 kvadratnih metara, otkrivene su na prostoru arheološkog parka Medijana. Mo- numentalno antičko kupatilo sa- građeno u 4. veku nove ere, imalo je bazene sa toplom i hladnom vo- dom, podno grejanje, mozaike, fre- ske i skulpture, a hodnikom je bilo povezano sa luksuznom vilom sa peristilom na ovom lokalitetu, po- znatijom kao Konstantinova vila, zbog čega arheolozi pretpostavlja- ju da su i terme pripadale nikome drugom do rimskom imperatoru Konstantinu Velikom i njegovim naslednicima. Posetioci mogu da vide i ka- ko je izgledala letnja rezidencija cara Konstantina iz 4. veka, u ka- kvim podnim mozaicima su uživa- li rimski imperator i njegova svi- ta, kakvo je bilo podno grejanje. Tu je čak 1.000 kvadratnih metara fantastičnih mozaičkih podova...
