Undoubtedly HK has poured some serious design knowledge into this range. For example, each enclosure in the HK Linear 9 series has on-board DSP processing to complement the integrated class D power amplification. The on-board DSP gives access to functions such as a: 10 band EQ, variable filters (high pass, low pass) polarity, overall level, limiter, and mute. Furthermore, you can network Linear 9 speakers and access all functions remotely using HK’s DSP Control software. I also like the ability to rotate the 210 LTS’ multicell transformer, by 90 degrees. This allows you to install the 210 LTS vertically or horizontally as required. But the two standout designs in this range are the 210 LTS high/mid cabinet and the 118 SUB BA. The 210 LTS promises pristine audio and great directivity, even at high SPLs. The 118 SUB BA offers a cardioid response thanks to its bandpass design. If you’ve ever suffered from noise complaints due to bass spill, then the prospect of a directional subwoofer is very appealing indeed! If you need a modular, scalable PA system designed for really large spaces, then the new HK Linear 9 deserves a close look. Offering onboard amplification, DSP processing and network control. If you glance through the specs of the new, flagship, active Linear 9 series, you’ll quickly realise that these are serious PA speakers! Importantly, the Linear 9 series is a high- power “long - throw” loudspeaker rage. If you’re looking for a PA system to fill a large venue or outdoor space, then this could be the ticket.
