Nov. 21: Country Line Dancing Every first and third Thursday of the month HopMonk Tavern Novato, 224 Vintage Way, hosts boot- scootin’ country line dancing for the whole family. Dance lessons start at 6 p.m. where you will learn the latest and greatest line dancing routines. Once you’ve got a handle on the moves, get ready to test your skills on the dance floor. Dec. 7–8: Marin Ballet Nutcracker There is so much to look forward to this holiday season including the return of The Nutcracker performed by the Marin Ballet. On Dec. 7 and 8 the beloved Nutcracke r will be presented at the Novato High School Center for the Arts, 625 Arthur St. in Novato. On both days there are performances at 1 and 5 p.m. The story of The Nutcracker follows a whimsical Christmas Eve dream of a little girl named Clara. Through the art of classical ballet, choreographed by Julia Adam, attendees are sure to get in the Christmas spirit. Tickets are $52 for adults and $30 for youth (18 and under) and seniors (65-plus). Nov. 27: Farmers Market Town Center (Every Wednesday) Every Wednesday the Town Center Corte Madera hosts a farmers market for the community. Celebrate the bounty of Marin and shop for local organic produce and discover specialty farmers. With an array of vendors, browse all the food purveyors, bakers and more have to offer. Nov. 29: Aprés Thanksgiving Sail on the San Francisco Bay Thanksgiving doesn’t have to be just a one-day celebration, the day after eating your weight in turkey, take part in a Thanksgiving sail on the San Francisco Bay. The Schooner Freda B will board in downtown Sausalito, 1001 Bridgeway #238. From there attendees will set sail from 12:45 to 3 p.m. and see the iconic Golden State Bridge, the Bay Bridge, Alcatraz, the San Francisco skyline and other parts of the Bay.
