When she connected with Estefania Contreras, a senior family preservation specialist with CSC’s Family Services Program, she opened up about wanting to leave her abusive relationship but not knowing what resources were available to help her. “Prior to coming to us, Rosa felt unsafe. On top of that, she and her children lived in one room that was rat-and roach-infested, and she didn’t have a kitchen to cook in,” Contreras recalled. “We worked to get her and her kids out of their current situation, and we helped set them up in a clean, comfortable apartment, where they are safe and secure.”
Rosa is deeply appreciative of the Family Services Program’s support.
“They helped me a lot, and I feel much more stable now,” she said. “My life has changed because of CSC.” l
