GOLF FOR A GOOD CAUSE With perfect weather at Catawba Country Club, more than a dozen corporate sponsors and a record number of 76 players on 19 teams, the fifth Swing into Action Charity Golf Tournament raised more than $24,000 to support needs in the communities surrounding Transportation Insight’s offices. The team of Ben Rostan, Jay Wilson, Marcus Houston and Mike Durham brought home the championship with an amazing score of 14-under par in the Captain’s Choice event. Trip Gentry from SupplyOne scored the prize for Longest Drive, while Chris Atkins from Carolina Southern won Closest to the Pin. TOWN HALL Transportation Insight’s Town Hall meetings on Aug. 20 celebrated our organization’s milestone achievements during the first half of 2019. Recognizing success “running” and

Leaders from Transportation Insight and Nolan Transportation Group fueled our collaborative partnership with an evening at Boca Restaurant in Hickory. Already our organizations are aggressively pursuing new business introductions that our growing relationship has initiated. More to come!

“advancing” the business, Transportation Insight Chief Executive Officer Rennie Faulkner officially welcomed our organization’s new sister company, Nolan Transportation Group (NTG).

NTG leadership introduced the Atlanta-based organization with more than 1,000 employees, including the new NTG Hickory team that officially came online Aug. 1. Already the NTG Hickory team ranks No. 4 for gross amount of freight booked among our transactional freight partner’s North American offices. Miss the Town Hall? You can watch the video online through our Wistia Channel. Town Hall participants flexed their sports trivia muscle in hopes of winning a Yeti cooler filled with prizes. Senior Marketing Communications Specialist Michael Willard and Client Solutions Director Garrett Fraker won prize packages.

Transportation Insight’s Business Development division invested a strong week in honing their sales tools and their relationships. In addition to time spent in training and strategy, Client Solutions Directors, Client Development Associates, Solutions and Marketing gathered at Blowing Rock Brewing Co. for an evening of camaraderie. During the sales team meetings, Senior Client Solutions Directors Jason Green and Read Jacob were recognized as Transportation Insight’s top Client Solutions Directors for revenue and opportunities. Congratulations to these leaders in our organization!

Sixteen workstations are in an open floorplan that mirrors other TI offices, with Terrace frame-and- tile desks, frosted glass partitions and cushioned filing cabinet seat. Four offices provide executive workspace, and a complete kitchenette and breakroom is available for associates working on site.

Transportation Insight’s new Charlotte office provides the organization with a convenient location for meetings, executive offices and workspace for our travelling associates. Situated near Charlotte-Douglas International Airport, the office includes two conference rooms well suited for client and prospect presentations and executive meetings.

While the start of football is big news around the TI campus, it is also big news in the logistics industry. Imagine everything involved in transporting a team to its football destination for away games. Transporting the Hogs to Tuscaloosa or the Tar Heels to Atlanta doesn’t happen by magic. The complex, time-sensitive supply chain of people, equipment and technology that produces weekly football games is an impressive feat in planning. Check out Freightwaves’ commentary “Freight All Kinds – The logistics of a college football game” for a deeper look at how transportation management strategies Transportation Insight applies in our work are a critical part of the games we enjoy every fall.

JERSEY DAY Transportation Insight’s Jersey Day celebrated the kick-off of the gridiron game and gave everyone a chance to show their colors. Many shades of blue tint our associates’ sports rainbow alongside, black and gold, red, purple, orange and… camouflage? How many of our clients have a role in the college football experience? From the food we eat and clothes we wear to the game broadcasts we enjoy – TI is an all-star player for the North American businesses that fuel our spirit on game day!
