“One of the most significant things we have [in the museum] is a Ritual copy that was handwritten and illustrated by Martha Foote Crow,” shared Renee Zainer, Alpha Phi’s Executive Director. “She gave it to our Beta-Northwestern Chapter so they knew what the Ritual of the Alpha Chapter [at Syracuse University] was.” Bound in leather, this precious artifact was hand drawn and handwritten by Martha Foote Crow in 1872 and features beautiful illustrations. The Alpha Phi Museum is laid out in a way that allows visitors to enjoy a
self-guided tour through Alpha Phi’s history, from 1872 to now. This beautiful space features several specially and intentionally designed rooms that showcase Alpha Phi’s influence and impact across North America, including a Chapter Map Wall, a Quarterly magazine Wall, cases of collegiate coffee mugs that reflect our 174 collegiate chapters, a Beginnings Case that includes artifacts that date back to the Original 10 Founders, a wall of Notable Alpha Phis and more. Additionally, the attention to detail in this new building is sure to
impress — from the carefully selected museum-quality display lighting and quotes etched in glass down to the office light fixtures, furniture and décor. “This is the first dedicated space Alpha Phi has had where history and leadership training can happen simultaneously,” Renee emphasized. All members are encouraged to visit the new Executive Office and enjoy a self-guided tour of the museum every Wednesday from12-3 p.m.
We hope you can visit soon!
