Eta Upsilon-Chapman Eta Upsilon Alumna Takes Home First Emmy Kelley Moody, Eta Upsilon-Chapman , received her first Emmy Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences – Pacific Southwest Chapter. She was recognized along with her team at KESQ News Channel 3 for her meteorological coverage of Tropical Storm Hilary. “I also won a Golden Mike Award from the Radio Television News Association for my on-air work during the storm earlier this year,” Kelley shared. Kelley is the weekend evening meteorologist for KESQ News Channel 3 in Palm Springs, California, and a five- time Emmy nominee for her work as a meteorologist and a journalist. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in television and broadcast journalism with a double minor in peace studies and sociology from Chapman University. She also has
her Broadcast and Operational Meteorology Certification from Mississippi State University.
Kelley first worked with KESQ News Channel 3 and CBS Local 2 from 2016 to 2019 as a anchor, meteorologist and reporter. Kelley moved home to Southern California in 2021, when she returned to Coachella Valley airwaves at KESQ News Channel 3 and joined Dateline NBC as an associate producer.
