The CDSBEO board received revised estimates from Finance Manager Ashley Hutchinson during its Dec. 20 session that show a 0.9 per cent increase in student enrolment figures for the 2016-2017 term “which is very positive” according to Hutchinson. The confirmed enrolment increase means a revision of the project budget for the term. The new total operations budget figure is $170.6 million along with a capital projects budget of $10.4 million.

As of March 1, 2017, the Cornwall Civic Complex and Convention Centre will be providing another option for catering services in the building. Anyone looking to book at the Cornwall Civic Complex for events of any kind, including wed- dings, conferences, trade shows and birthday parties will be given a list of registered caterers that they can choose from. Clients will pay the current room rental rates to the Cornwall Civic Complex, and then negotiate a deal with a ca- terer of their choice (from the registered list) with no percentages paid back to the City. Caterers and local food service providers that want to be added to the City’s list of caterers have to register with the City’s Purchasing Department and provide an up-to-date WSIB form and a copy of their certificate of insurance. Also required is a recent “pass” food establishment inspection report. – Francis Racine
