"Wouldn't it be nice if we could find other things as easily as we can find fault?" * * * MY LORD, MAY I ASK THIS? What shall I ask for the coming year? What shall my watchword be? What would'st Thou do for me, dear Lord? What shall I do for Thee? Lord, I would ask for a holy year, Spent in Thy perfect will; Help me to walk in Thy very steps— Help me to please Thee still. Lord, I would ask for a year of prayer— Teach me to walk with Thee; Breathe in my heart the Spirit's breath; Pray Thou Thy prayer in me. Lord, I would ask for a year of hope, Looking for Thee to come. And hastening on that year of years That brings us Christ and home. * * * " If the Ten Commandments were introduced in Congress today, prob ably someone would get up to offer two or three amendments." "Some families must think that Sunday services are like conventions, because many of them send just one delegate." * * * "W e should quench our anger in love, for nothing can cook one's goose quicker than a boiling temper." * * *

FROM A LOVED ONE IN HEAVEN I've had my first Christmas in heaven, a glorious, wonderful day, I stood with saints of the ages who found Christ the truth and the way; I sang with the heavenly choir, just think I longed so to sing, And oh, what celestial music we brought to our Saviour and King. We sang the glad song of redemption, how the Lord to Bethlehem came, And how they had called His name Jesus that all might be saved through His name We sang once again with the angels the song that they sang that blest morn. When shepherds first heard the glad story, that Jesus the Saviour was born. Oh, dear one, I wish you'd been here, no Christmas on earth could compare With all of the rapture and glory we witnessed in heaven so fair. You know how I always loved Christ mas, it seemed such a wonderful day With all of my loved ones around me, the children so happy and gay. Yes, now I can see why I loved it, and oh what a joy it will be When you and my loved ones are with me to share in the glories I see. So loved ones on earth, here's my greeting, look up ’til the day dawn appears. And, oh, what a Christmas awaits us, beyond all our partings and tears. — Dr. Albert Simpson Reitz * * * "The surest way to get on your feet is to first get on your knees."
