Clarence-Rockland rencontre le défi
des généreux donatrices/donateurs qui ont pris un ange du sapin installé chez votre épicier Grenon . Au nom des nombreuses familles qui grâce à vous reçoivent de l’aide de la banque alimentaire, au nom des soixante-dix (70) bénévoles qui donnent charitablement de leur temps à chaque semaine et au nom des membres du conseil d’administration du Centre d’aide, un GROS MERCI à vous tous. Cette année, nous fêtons le 20e anniversaire du Centre d’aide de Rockland Help Centre. Les succès retentissants de notre collecte de fonds/denrées alimentaires (la Guignolée) annuelle nous donnent bonne raison de célébrer cet évènement. Chaque année nous faisons notre unique levée de fonds annuelle durant la période de la mi- novembre à la mi-janvier. Encore une fois, notre communauté a répondu de façon exceptionnelle. Nous avons recueilli 55 000 $ ainsi que plus de 28,000 articles de nourriture, ce qui représente une augmentation de 15% par rapport à l’année précédente qui avait été l’ année record jusqu’à ce jour. Les dons nous viennent de nombreuses sources, les commerces, les groupes sociaux et de bienfaisance, les institutions financières, des citoyens et citoyennes généreux et combien d’autres. Entre autres, nos écoles ont contribué cette année, rien de moins que 12,000 items de denrées non périssables. Voici une liste des donatrices/donateurs qui nous reviennent chaque année et qui nous permettent de maintenir notre assistance auprès de nos familles dans le besoin. Ici nous respectons le désir de nos bienfaiteurs/bienfaitrices qui préfèrent garder l’anonymat. Par ailleurs, si nous avons omis de mentionner votre nom, nous nous en excusons et vous demandons de bien vouloir nous le signaler pour que nous puissions rectifier notre erreur. Grâce à vos contributions et à celles de nombreuses autres personnes (individuelle- ment) nous avons remis à l’occasion des Fêtes, 200 paniers d’aliments (sous forme de bons d’achat) à des familles nécessiteuses, pour la somme de 30 000 $. Par la même occasion, 175 enfants de ces mêmes familles ont reçu un magnifique cadeau de la part

Clarence-Rockland does it again

This spring will mark the 20 th anniversary of the Centre d’Aide Rockland Help Centre. And after the most recent Guignolée/Food drive fund raising campaign, we can all celebrate. The period mid November to mid January is the only time of the year that our food bank canvasses the community for donations. And again this year, the generosity of our magnificent city surpassed our expectations. $55,000 and more than 28,000 items of food were collected during that time period, both of these a 15% increase over last year which was also a record year for our organization. These donations come from all walks of our city, businesses, service groups, concerned individuals and the list goes on. Our ten schools contributed over 12,000 items of food this year. The following is a partial list of major donors who contribute to our food bank year after year. Thanks to their contributions and those of so many individual citizens of our great community, nearly 200 families received food vouchers totalling almost $30,000 for Christmas and 175 children’s eyes were brightened when they received Christmas gifts from the Grenon Angel Tree. On behalf of the 70 volunteers at theHelpCentre, its board of directors, and the families who benefit from your generosity, I thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Once again you met the challenge, you made a difference, and you make me proud to say: “I live in Clarence- Rockland, one of the most generous communities in Canada”. The residents of Clarence Creek and surrounding areas are invited to a public meeting to discuss and present their vision for the future of the Village. A draft of the concept plan of the village will be presented to engage the participants in the discussions. The meeting will be chaired by Dr. Guy Félio, P.Eng. – Ward 5 Councillor and Chair of the Infrastructure and Buildings Committee of Clarence-Rockland.
