Walking Tour: Hudson Yards and the New West Side The redevelopment of the old New York Central rail yards on the far West Side of Midtown has resulted in a whole new neighborhood of glitzy residential high rises, office buildings, and cultural venues. Learn about the history of the fabled waterfront, and of the new developments (Hudson Yards and other nearby projects). The tour will not ascend the High Line but you will learn about it along the way. FRANCIS MORRONE (see bio for “Walking Tour: Riverside Drive and Riverside Park”). Tuesday, June 10 • 1:00pm-2:30pm • TBD in NYC • Course 13349 • $80
Walking Tour: Belmont in the Bronx Belmont, with its main street Arthur Avenue, is the Bronx’s “Little Italy,” home to the city’s largest and best concentration of Italian restaurants and specialty food stores. It puts Manhattan’s Little Italy to shame. The neighborhood as a whole has a rich history. The tour will not include the campus of nearby Fordham University, but it will skirt it and you will learn about it. Find out where to buy the ONLY cannoli in New York as good as what you can find in Sicily. FRANCIS MORRONE (see bio for “Walking Tour: Riverside Drive and Riverside Park”).
