Mastering Spreadsheets Using Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets Spreadsheets are essential everyday tools for managing budgets and tracking projects. Mastering them can make your tasks easier or set you apart in your job. This course starts at the beginner level and proceeds through intermediate level usage. Class starts with navigating and customizing Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, organizing and analyzing data using formulas and functions, creating visually engaging charts and graphs, and collaborating in real time with Excel and Sheets for team projects. The second half of the course introduces advanced spreadsheet functions and spreadsheet organization strategies to work faster and smarter, including advanced data formatting and data validation, working with large data sets for filtering, sorting, and organizing data efficiently, using intermediate functions and formulas for powerful data analysis, and creating dynamic, interactive charts to better analyze and visualize data. Students should bring a laptop (strongly recommended) or iPad (acceptable but not suggested) to class and sign up for a free online account with Microsoft 365 or Google (for personal use) prior to the first session.
