Spanish for Travelers This practical course is designed for those who plan to visit or revisit a Spanish-speaking country and want to understand more about the language and culture. Students will learn to communicate in many travel situations including shopping, eating, sightseeing, and interacting with people. All materials will be provided for this interactive, dynamic, and exciting class. Beginner to Advanced Beginner Spanish
preparing for a trip to a Spanish-speaking country or want to learn this prevalent language, this class is for you! Course is designed for students with little or no previous exposure to Spanish. Learn basic grammar, practical vocabulary and expressions. Purchase of a textbook may be required. PATRICIA ALMANZAR is a Spanish teacher at Scarsdale High School where she combines her passion for linguistics and neuroscience by making learning as interactive and engaging as possible. She has taught Spanish, ESL, ELA and
Build on your beginner skills. This course is designed for students who have some previous exposure to Spanish. Learn basic grammar, practical vocabulary and expressions. Purchase of a textbook may be required. Prerequisite: Beginner Spanish or the equivalent. PATRICIA (PATTY) NEIMAN , an educator with a rich multilingual and multicultural background, is passionate about fostering her students’ conversational skills and cultural appreciation of Italian, French, and Spanish. Neiman grew up in Italy, bilingual in Italian and French. She earned a BA in both French Language and Education, and later other post-graduate certificates. Soon after, she moved to Argentina, where she was immersed in the Spanish language and local culture. Advanced Beginner Spanish This class is for students who have an understanding of the present tense and reflexive verbs. Focus will be on the past, future, and compound tenses. Students will continue to learn grammar and develop their Spanish language skills. Students will also learn new vocabulary and sentence structure. Emphasis will be on developing students' written and verbal abilities. Purchase of a textbook may be required. MICHELLE HAIEK , a native Spanish and English speaker and US citizen living abroad, teaches ESL at Universidad Metropolitana (Caracas, Venezuela) with a focus on Literary Analysis and Academic English as well as Spanish to English speakers. Haiek majored in Modern Languages and has a postgraduate degree in Educational Technology.
