SURC 215B 11:15 a.m. – Noon Launched in Spring 2025, the Adaptive University Council has begun campus-wide work fueled by over forty idea submissions, identifying key themes with the potential to drive transformational change aligned with CWU’s mission and values. As Cat-teams advance through shared governance, the council invites continued bold submissions from the CWU community, building a growing repository of ideas to shape our adaptive future.

CWU’s Business and Community Services is advancing regional innovation through key partnerships and funding, including a Washington Department of Commerce grant to renovate Old Heat into a tech transfer hub, a $400K NSF grant to strengthen academic-industry collaboration, and federal requests for workforce and advanced manufacturing development. Collaborations with industry leaders like PacAero and local entities such as Kittitas County reflect a growing ecosystem focused on applied research, training, and long-term economic growth. Strategic Plan Initiative: Value: Engagement Goal 1: Amplify and elevate the university’s relationship with local and regional communities. Initiative 1.1: Integrate our strategic planning and activities with the cities within Kittitas County and with the county as a whole, as well as with other cities and counties in our region. Initiative 1.4: Participate in the creation and implementation of an economic development plan that builds a partnership between CWU and the cities within Kittitas County and with the county as a whole, as well as with other cities and counties in our region.
