Purpose-built Rental Highlights • In the first two months of 2025, 4,099 purpose-built rental units 5 were registered in B.C. Compared with the same period in 2024, the number of registered rental units increased 89.4%. • So far in 2025, rental units 5 represented 46.2% of all multi-unit registrations. • This month 2,108 rental units were registered 12 . Compared with February 2024, the number of rental units registered increased 120.3%. • Using a 12-month moving average 4 , there were 1,700 rental units registered 5 in February, trending at a 6.0% increase from January. • Using a 36-month moving average 4 , there were 1,482 rental units registered 5 in February, which is a 1.7% increase from January. • There were 27 rental buildings registered 5 in February. Most of these were buildings of 5 to 50 units (37.0%) and buildings of over 100 units (33.3%). The largest building of 300 units was proposed to be built in Vancouver. • In February, Vancouver (1,073), North Vancouver* (220) and Coquitlam (204) had the largest number of rental units registered 5 in B.C.
