Wade Lewis was a longtime friend to our family and an integral part of Red Doc for more than three decades. He managed the feedlot in Hereford, Texas, where we feed our cattle and where generations of our bulls and heifers were developed under his care. We first began working with Wade in 2000, and from that point on, he became someone we relied on. Wade was a true cattleman—one of a kind—with an eye for good cattle that you simply can’t teach. He understood herd health, knew how to doctor sick cattle, and ap - proached everything with a level of grit and honesty that earned our respect from day one. Raised in New Mexico, Wade brought a lifetime of experience and a strong work ethic to everything he did. He wasn’t afraid to work, didn’t believe in cutting corners, and always told it to you straight. Over the years, he taught us a great deal—not just about feeding cattle, but about buying and selling calves and making sound decisions for the long term. Wade played a major role in shaping our program. From helping us grow and develop cattle to being part of the transition into GrowSafe, he helped set Red Doc up for a stronger future. His influence is something we will carry forward for years to come. More than anything, Wade was our friend. A steady hand, a no-nonsense kind of man, and someone we trusted completely. We are incredibly grateful for the years we had with him and the impact he made on our family and our operation. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
