Red Doc 5211 is a unique ranch-raised bull developed in the desert. This bull has continued to impress since leaving the ranch with no creep feed, weighing 682 lbs last fall. He offers an opportunity to intro- duce a new curve-bending carcass line within the Santa Gertrudis breed. This powerful combination of Red Doc carcass genetics and Corporon Acres ma- ternal influence produced impressive performance including a 12.6 REA, 5.211 IMF, 5.39 lbs per day ADG, a 4.09 feed-to-gain ratio, a 2.58 yield grade, -0.27 RFI, and a cost of gain of $0.61 per lb. At today’s beef prices, these High Desert-tested genetics could quickly pay for themselves through grid premiums or reduced maintenance costs in replacement females.
