Dear AMA members, friends and mining family: Welcome to the 2026 Alaska Miners Association Biennial Convention & Trade Show in Fairbanks! Meeting in Fairbanks every other year in the spring is always a highlight on our calendars here at AMA. It's an opportunity to gather and see familiar faces, share our successes and big victories, and continue in building momentum as we work together to advocate for everything that is Alaska mining. The Convention Committee has put in countless hours to again make this a fantastic gathering ... and I know you are going to love it. There is something for everyone, no matter if you call Fairbanks home or if you are coming up for this great event! We will again have a mine tour — this time the Manh Choh Mine — as well as short courses and technical sessions, breakfast and luncheon

As we all look ahead to Fairbanks, it's also a great opportunity to look back at the past few months, which have certainly been busy here in Alaska and elsewhere! AMA recently held its fourth annual Juneau Mining Forum, and we had an amazing time with all of the attendees, speakers and sponsors who help make this a premier event each February. You can find photos on Pages 14-20 detailing what is always a great day for Alaska mining. Thank you again to everyone who shared their own personal stories about what makes our industry unique, vital and downright enjoyable to be a part of. While in Juneau AMA leadership and staff had the chance to present an annual mining update to the House and Senate Resources Committee. It's always a pleasure to meet with our elected officials and share, on your behalf, the true value that is the mining industry in Alaska. Your stories resonated with legislators ... and they always will! I wish all of you safe travels to the Convention and I’m looking forward to seeing you in Fairbanks!
