The dam of these bulls is really deep bodied. Back to the “7982” female that Bill Nottke selected for his herd in 2024 for $50,000. Yield grade changes will be coming, fat is expensive to put on cattle at the feedlot, it takes a lot of corn and water to put .5 backfat on an animal. In the future to make the big carcass animals we keep hearing about is pretty easy with a Charolais sire, without the expensive fat. An interesting bull, want to add an extra 50# plus at weaning on a set of cows? Cha- rolais bulls can normally do it! The only breed that doesn’t have a heavy influence of Angus, Red Angus in them, that allows for more heterosis. True muscle visual both back and top. Fink Charolais are also bred for marbling, we can provide results of cus- tomers on their harvest data. Backed up by the foundation Miss Lady family. Potential replacements! A fairly decent set of brothers!! EPDs are “alike” with DNA influence. They are the same kind as their EPDs. Thick tops, sound made Gold Standard sons out of one of my top five picks of our first calf heifers . No holes in this pedigree or kind. Every sire in the pedigree is highly proven and household names in the breed. We will be following this group pretty close - one of them may be a sire we use down the road. Potential replacements.
CE BW WW YW MILK MCE MTL SC CW REA FAT MARB TSI 11 -0.4 83 152 18 10.4 59 1.1 48 .97 -.008 .31 317 Top: 4% WW, 3% YW, 4% DOC, 3% CW, 10% REA, 8% Marb., 2% TSI. Yield Grade 2 (under present yield grade standards) choice or prime carcass should be a goal for most producers, especially as age and pounds (many times is just more fat) becomes more common. A Charolais cross easily becomes a potential ingredient of that animal. If 1600# plus on larger harvest cattle will be the future, the “many years” old of maternal-terminal type programs will make a lot of sense for overall profit ?? Potential replacements!
