68 Paul Signac (French, 1863-1935) Harbour of Paimpol
Provenance: -Auction, Laurin-Guilloux-Buffetaud-Tailleur, Paris, 18 December 1995, lot 120. -With Maurice Keitelman Gallery, Brussels. This work is accompanied by certificate no. 6640 issued by Paule Cailac, member of the Syndicat Français des Experts Professionnels en Oeuvres d’Art, in February 1996. Between 1925 and 1928, Paul Signac lived near the port of Paimpol in Brittany, a place known for its shipbuilding and outfitting. Every February, these vessels set sail for fishing expeditions to Iceland and Greenland.
