By the end of Year 11, you must have completed a course in Financial Literacy and Te Ao Ma¯ori. For Year 10, you will be assigned to at least one of these courses, depending on your other choices.
Financial Literacy A basic understanding of how finances work and how to budget and plan is a foundation skill for all students. Through the use of a range of activities and online tools, students have the resources to make informed, final decisions in their future.
Te Ao Ma¯ori Tangata whenua hold a special place in Aotearoa. All people in New Zealand have a moral and legal obligation to contribute to the partnership that our ancestors agreed to in Te Tiriti o Waitangi. By appreciating the history, culture, and traditions of Ma¯ori, students are better equipped to engage in the future of New Zealand society, as well as build connections across cultures on a personal level.
