a. Allocate participants in pairs to inspect and determine which items are good and which are bad
b. Encourage participants to present their conclusions and reasons to the group
c. Compare the participants conclusions on what is good or bad to the expected result
The participants shall:
Practise component inspections on samples looking for good and bad items
Engage working in pairs to make determinations of good and bad, and to share conclusions
Reflect on their conclusions compared to other pairs, asking themselves what they might do differently in future to recognise issues
ELEMENT 3.4 - REPORTING ANY PROBLEMS
Learning objectives:
24) Take responsibility to report any problems identified during breakout inspection (Ability, intermediate level)
The instructor shall:
Facilitate a role play exercise illustrating when and how to report any problems identified during inspection. Ask and answer questions such as:
a. What to do if unsure about an issue with a cable component?
b.
Who is responsible for making the final decision?
c.
What could go wrong if something is missed?
d.
How should you deal with undue time pressure?
e. How should you respond to dismissing your conclusions?
Arrange participants to role play as different members of the work party, with different responsibilities and priorities during the installation task that might create undue pressure to proceed.
