The Tanneries We Stock

Founded in 1867, and located in Pennsylvania, USA, Wickett & Craig is known for producing some of the highest quality vegetable tanned leathers in the world. Veg tanning is a heavily intensive, eco-friendly process that produces leather with rich colors that are known for deep patina that get better with age. Here at Buckleguy, we are the largest distributor of W&C leathers in the world.

A 5th generation tannery (est. 1899) based in Nettetal, Germany, Richard Hoffmans focuses on high-end, contemporary fashion and bag leathers, working with leading accessory houses around the world. A GOLD rated tannery with the ECOL certification (Energy Controlled Leather). At Buckleguy we are the USA distributor for in stock leather sides and cut panels.

Located in Chicago, USA, since 1905 Horween is one of the oldest tanneries in the USA and famous for a variety of leathers serving the shoe, accessory and sports markets. It’s leathers are known for their unique blend of oils and greases, and a “feel” that must be held to fully appreciate. At Buckleguy we distribute straps, panels, and cut pieces.

Korba leather is a 100% vegetable tanned buffalo calf leather from a tannery in India founded in 1970. These leathers are specially made for small leather goods and have been used for decades by major fashion accessory brands. It is highly burnishable allowing the leather to age and darken beautifully. At Buckleguy we stock and distribute full hides and cut panels.

KORBA

Founded in 1881, and currently located in St. Louis, Missouri, Hermann Oak produces purely vegetable tanned leathers. Veg tanning is an eco-friendly and organic process. At Buckleguy we stock English Bridle and Natural Tooling leather straps. These stiff leathers are perfect for belts and other strap items.

Established in 1900 in England, J & E Sedgwick & Co. produces what may be considered the most premium vegetable tanned Bridle leathers in the world. Much of its success is due to the level of skill and craftsmanship that has been carried out by its expert curriers for over 100 years. At Buckleguy, we are a USA distributor for the core Sedgwick leathers.

Based in South Africa, we work with a Tannery that farms the crocodile, tans the hide, and produces the finished product. The Tannery is committed to sustainability and since its inception has aided the local and wild croc population in quadrupling in size. At Buckleguy, we stock a variety of fully finished Nile ‘Horn Back’ croc straps in 1 ¼" and 1 ½" sizes.
