through all .thicknesses of the paper, upward along a line starting from a point % inch from the lower left cor» ner. Turn to the right and cut to within V 2 inch of the right side of the paper, and then straight down. Make the crossbar 1 inch wide. Cut above the crossbar the same as below. Color the unfolded “H” gold. Unfold the other “H” and, by indicating mid points on the complete crossbars, you will find a half cross, three whole crosses, and another half cross. Color each half cross with black and yellow to represent tongues of fire. Color the middle cross red and the others black. Refold, and placing the gold “H” on top, attach the papers with thumb tacks to the board, near the upper left-hand corner. The stem of the thumb tacks should be placed close to but not through the paper, allow ing the paper to be held in place only by the heads of the tacks.) LESSON: You are wondering what this gold “H” represents. We will let it stand for the “Hereafter.” The Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross in order that the door to heaven might be opened. In Isaiah 53:5 we read: “But he was wounded for our transgres sions, he was bruised for our in iquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” We will cut this “H” showing how a door can be made. [Next to the gold on the right is the red cross.] Here is a red cross, reminding us of the cross of Christ. [Fasten the red cross with thumb tacks to the right and a few inches below the “H.” ] Jesus Christ, because He wanted to save people from hell, died on the cross. [Pull out the next two pieces of paper on the right side; reverse one, and tack it in position to make an “H” below and to the right of the red cross.] Next we shall take two black crosses from the left side of the “H,” reminding us of the two thieves who were crucified with Christ. [Fasten with thumb tacks on both sides of the red cross.] We will turn one of the black crosses over [the one under the golden “H” ], making it white, show ing how the repentant thief entered heaven, being forgiven and cleansed of sin. The open door of hell received the other. Each one of us can by faith receive Christ as a personal Saviour and can enter heaven. © fold paper . — THUS PLACE SINGLE SHEET THUS CUT THROUGH A il ON DOTTED LINE ® COLOR

IiUke 24:33 And they rose up the same hour» and returned to Jerusalem» and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them» 34 Saying» The Lord is risen indeed» and hath appeared to Simon. 35 And they ' told what things were done in the way» and how he was known of them in breaking of bread. 36 And as they thus spake» Jesus him self stood in the midst of them» and saith unto them» Peace be unto you. 37 But they were terrified and af frighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit. 38 And he said unto them» Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts? 39 Behold my hands, and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me» apd see: for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. 40 And when he had thus spoken, he showed them his hands and his feet. 41 And w hile they yet believed not for jo y , and wondered, he said unto them , Have ye here any m eat? 42 And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of a honeycomb. 43’ And he took It, and did eht before them. 44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which- were written in the law of Hoses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. 45 Then opened he their understand ing, that they might understand the Scriptures, 46 And1 said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it-behooved Christ to

suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: 47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jeru salem. 48 And ye are witnesses of these things* LESSON TEXT : Lk. 24:33-48. GOLDEN TEXT : “Ye are witnesses ef these things” (Lk. 24:48). DEVOTIONAL READING: Psa* 16:5-11. Outline and Exposition t T h e R epo rts (33-35) A FTER the resurrection of our / \ Lord, many rumors were heard 1 V concerning the event, but none was wholly accepted by the majority of the disciples. The two who met and conversed with the risen Lord on the road to Emmaus hastened back to Jerusalem to inform the disciples of what they had seen and heard. When they arrived, they found the group of disciples already excited by the report that Peter had also seen the risen Lord. But, from the way the record reads, the disciples thought that this, too, was merely another rumor of something they considered impossible.
