N ichols Paint and Fab offers some of the high- est quality automotive builds in the industry. Located at 1800 N ST RT 1 in Watseka, Illinois, their newly opened 100x300 facility brings every stage of your dream build under one roof. In addi- tion, their 60x80 Dyno tuning shop ensures high performance results with precision engine diagnos- tics and upgrades without leaving the facility. Each department within the shop plays a crucial role in bringing a build to life.
Customers can pick up all the latest Nichols swag while checking out Nichols & Dimes Hobbies that caters to RC enthusiasts with top brands and repair services or stroll the showroom where finished builds, awards and magazine features tell the story of the shop’s craftsmanship, including vehicles like the ’62 Willys Wagon from “Wrench’d,” Nichol’s Factory Five shop truck and recent builds like a ’68 Camaro convertible, ’40 Ford coupe and a Hemi- powered ’33 Ford coupe. Nichols & Dimes Hobbies will not only have a RC racetrack set up, but they will debut a new slot car track at the 56th Street Rod Nationals in Louisville, Kentucky, July 31-August 3, 2025. Rick’s key leadership initiated the E’ville Iron Street Rod Club and the Frog Follies car show. As an avid collector of hot rod and Petrolina memorabilia, he also hosted the Hoosier Petro Peddlers swap meet in Evansville. Rick graduated from the University of Evansville in 1971 and served as Vice President of Farm Boy Meats and President of Big B barbeque restaurants. We’ve included a link to a short video The Fabrication department is where the magic begins, crafting custom parts, welding, machining and engineering real-world drivers that can hold their own at any car show. The Paint department handles everything from bodywork to custom finish- es, including color sanding and buffing to perfec- tion. Final Assembly is where technicians install after- market parts, perform mechanical adjustments and dyno-tune for peak performance. Out in the Parts department they carry high-quality performance parts or can order anything custom. For one-of-a- kind solutions the 3D department offers laser engrav- ing and 3D printing.
