love of his life, Lorraine (their dog Foster is front and center in the pic). He has a pair of daughters who he always tries to include and one of them is currently driving Tex’s old ’48. Skip and his friend Dennis O’Brien (of O’Brien Truckers fame) have a great time running to the Street Rod Nationals every year. Just for fun in 1980 they started swapping Entry #1 at the Street Rod Nationals and along the way they became great friends with Hot Rod Liz Kitzul with whom Skip now exchanges his #1 entry for the Street Rod Nationals. And lastly, but not at all the least, are all the friends Skip and his colorful ‘34 Ford time warp have made over the years. Up next are some beautiful photos and a quick update of the car as it exists today.

In 2011 Skip noticed that the oil pump driveshaft tang was nearly worn off, so he put in a replacement pump that failed in the most spectacular way. Skip lost oil pressure going up a hill on I86 in Maryland and promptly launched three rods through the oil pan. Skip figured out that the oil pump needed a hardened shaft, and they were not available, so he had one made and rebuilt the engine for a third time. Sadly, many of the parts he had come to love like the Crower cam, the cool MT pistons, and pretty much everything was crap including the block, so a new engine was built and slipped in. What is missing from all this info about the car is info about Skip and everyone he has met along the way starting with that first build. Skip had a congenial divorce from his first wife and then met the
