joined in on the fun at the Confederate Classics 5th Rod Run in Spartanburg, SC.

and the Safety Program for 11.

Under 21 featured 14-year-old Jason Bowers and his ’29 Ford. Jason and his dad had bought it in 1986 as a basket case and had been working on it together since.

In Club Scene, the Cluster Busters Hot Rod Club is one of the oldest continually active car clubs in the country. Formed in 1948 on the northside of Indianapolis, their interest at the time was the new sport of drag racing. For 17 years they had a club house at Raceway Park.

“A Few Minutes with…” spent time with Dennis & Sue O’Brien who built a business out of manufacturing custom car club plaques. O’Brien Truckers now had over 40,000 plaques, several thousand belt buckles, stock plaques & license plate toppers.

“Are your scuff plates looking scary?” A new set of door sill plates from Dennis Carpenter Reproductions.

The beginning of the “Mail-Order Street Rod Project” series began. The goal—build a complete street rod using only NSRA event exhibitors’ and SS advertisers’ products.

The North Dakota SRA awarded Larry Larson of Bismark with its highest honor, the “Street Rodder of the Year.”

Chevs of the 40’s offered

two new alternatives to the stock ’41 Chevy car grille designed to provide a unique clean look in billet with polished face and black powder-coated back fasteners to be hidden for a floating grille effect.

The Strollers Car Club held their first- ever reunion. The club started in 1969 at the 1st Chattanooga World of Wheels car show.

SS Visits visited Mark Campbell of Street & Performance. Mark started the company in 1982 and he attended the first street rod nationals in 1970 where he became the 1st NSRA member and is seen here being inducted into the SEMA Hot Rod Hall of Fame.

In Street Sweeper, (L-R) Warren Kindle, Helen Meadows, Steve Jellison, Lance Lambert, Don Jubi (rear), Nancy Barci (accepting for deceased husband Bob), Jim Olson and Bud Worley were inducted into the Washington Hot Rod Hall of Fame.
