o f the Chinese were bound for Mexico, the other half for Panama; a part o f the Japanese were on the way to Peru (to join the hundreds there who were prev iously reached in this port with the Word o f Gqd), while the remainder were bound to new colonies in Argentina. A good group o f Japanese and the Chileans were to leave the vessel at Chile’s main seaport, so that through this one vessel visited, the message o f the Cross will be found in homes in all those countries, and who can foresee all that God’s purpose holds? W e can but say “ Praise the Lord.” The loss o f the steamer “ Bear” recently, brought memories to us o f services held on that ship. Also, the loss o f the “Jacob Luckenbach,” a vessel which came from the East but one voyage, was a reminder of another past privilege which we thank God we had and took, because the night cometh when no man can work. have worked hard here, but thanks be to God some who took it up have been deliv ered from it. Then, too, such a lot o f peo ple in a low, backslidden state o f soul! W e found one woman who cried over her state. She had been a Salvation Army captain and remembered the days when the Lord was sweet to her soul. W e led her, in a prayer o f return to the Lord. We found also one whom God had mar vellously delivered. This was a woman who had definitely known God for years, yet she was “led away with the error of the wicked.” Her physical sufferings led her to “try” Christian Science, but all the time she had great misgivings, yet thought she was being “healed,” until one day the Christian Science Journal opened her eyes through a blasphemous statement that “the Holy Ghost does not dwell in the body for the reason that the lesser cannot, contain the greater."

business among their fellow passengers. Every Sunday morning a large public meet ing was held and the Gospel preached. No wonder they all wanted the W ord o f God to read for themselves. These d$a,r Chris tians spoke o f their intention to do follow up work, and were greatly delighted as four o f them were given a whole big Bible to be used during the rest o f their jour ney, and perhaps during the time o f their stay in that Bible-barren land—South America. W e trust that the Lord may answer prayer and that many may be reached in this way. Long after the Mission yacht “ Biola” left the ship, the worker could see those Christian men at the railing waving their handkerchiefs in the air in a farewell mes sage that touched the heart. , A remarkable fact came out during the little conference. On that one ship half J UNE has been to us a month o f thanks giving and praise. The weather at times has been excessively hot, making it diffi cult to get people out to services, so we have had to hold many cottage services, Bible study meetings and Gospel preach ings. W e feel we have been led o f the Lord and have felt deeply thankful to see'a few families delivered from the delusion of Christian Science. Some backsliders have been reached, and Christians who were cold and lifeless have been restored to communion with God. A few have1 con fessed Christ. At the big K. T. & O. camp near Mari copa we were very kindly received and at the meetings we held we felt the presence o f the Lord with us. W e came to Coalinga the latter part o f the month and are in the midst o f a ten days’ service. The Christian Science heresy teachers
