Exhibition Highlights Back for a thirteenth year, the Market Focus theatre , sponsored by Inphi, will once again form a hub of discussion, with more than 30 sessions covering everything from datacentres, photonics integrations and digital silicon photonics to fibre access, service and content provider optical transmission, Market Focus showcases the very latest news and developments from global leaders within the industry. This year we are pleased to announce the brand new ‘New Markets’ session on Wednesday morning with transportation sensing, lidar and 3d sensing all on the agenda. As new technologies continue to emerge, and increased pressure is being placed on the networks than ever, the need for efficient and resilient optical networks has never been greater, Market Focus gives you a unique opportunity to hear the latest trends, exciting predictions and the next steps to be taken to achieve connectivity goals. Featuring eleven zones supported by major vendors across the globe, each focusing on a specific area of fibre to the home. The central office zone will once again incorporate a live demonstration area, organised by CTTS, where the latest optical communications products will be showcased, see p26-27 for a full list of zone participants and demonstration timetable. In partnership with CTTS Training we’ll be sharing some of the key skills and techniques of fibre optic testing and fusion splicing. Refresh your learning and take part in these free training sessions on the show floor, including fusion splicing and fibre preparation tools. See p28 for full session details. Mrs Beverley Lucas: 1959 – 2019 Event Director ECOC In memory of Mrs Beverley Lucas our Event Director, and friend, passed away after a very short battle with lung cancer. Beverley was a true pioneer for the ECOC event working on the exhibition from its infancy. Beverley has helped develop and grow the exhibition and has assisted the conference with how we combine the two, to create the event that is ECOC. We know that she valued all the clients at the event and even considered some exhibitors as her friends. We hope you will join us in remembering Beverley at the event this year.
