Taking Turns, Building Connections: Developmentally Appropriate Practices to Support Young Children with Autism Presented by Kwangwon Lee (I/T, P, K, FCC, L&A) This interactive session supports early childhood educators in promoting turn taking, a foundational form of social communication for young children with autism. Participants will learn practical, developmentally appropriate strategies to embed turn taking into inclusive, play-based learning.

S41. Be Curious, Not Judgmental: Coaching with an Equity Mindset Presented by Alex Kogstad and Kyla McRoy, Ph.D. (L&A)

This presentation aims to foster a deeper understanding of equitable coaching and mentoring practices. Through a combination of theoretical insights and practical breakout sessions, participants will explore effective leadership practices, the dynamics of observational coaching, and the importance of partnership over placement. The breakout sessions will focus on coaching with equity in mind and mentoring through an equity lens, providing tailored guidance for both coaches and mentees. By the end of the session, participants will have gained valuable knowledge and practical techniques to apply in their roles, emphasizing the importance of curiosity and continuous learning.
