INDIVIDUAL GIVING BASICS: DEVELOPING EFFECTIVE RELATIONSHIPS

Course Content: During this three-hour course, participants will focus on the various areas encompassed in individual giving. Students will be given instructions on how to develop a planning process for major gift giving, including creating a gift-range chart, developing accurate record keeping files, and other important internal processes within a nonprofit.

Course Goals: After successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

 Develop a planning process to solicit individuals for major gift giving  Expand their nonprofit’s financial means and options to develop donors  Utilize the basics of gift giving by creating gift-range charts for planning  Identify the case for prospective relationships with donors  Put into action internal processes to: Ask for gifts; record accurate information; and thank donors promptly and appropriately
