If a nursing student misses more than two days of class in an 8-week course or three days of class in a 16-week course without significant documentation of major trauma, accident, or illness to the student or at the discretion of the Program Director, the student will be placed on a performance improvement plan and may be dismissed from the program if plan is not maintained . Students are required to make up missed clinical hours, regardless of circumstances whether excused or unexcused absences . Students arriving more than fifeen (15) minutes late for a class/clinical or leaving more than fif een (15) early and or missing more than 1 hour of class/clinical time will be considered absent for the whole day . Clinical Attendance Attendance at all clinical experiences is mandatory . All missed clinical days, including excused and unexcused absences, must be made up . A fee may be charged for any clinical make-up days . It is the responsibility of a student to promptly inform their instructor in the event of an absence or illness .
