homes in the 25 states with the highest number of facilities. In September of 2023, three Kane Community Living Centers ranked within the top 25 nursing homes in Pennsylvania; Kane Glen Hazel was ranked 9th, Kane McKeesport 15th and Kane Scott Township 20th. Kane Glen Hazel was the highest ranked nursing home in Allegheny County/Western Pennsylvania. The rankings are based on five data sources, including performance data, peer recommendations, management of the COVID-19 situation and accreditations from The Joint Commission (TJC) and Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). For the first time, resident satisfaction data for nursing homes, based on TJC National Safety Goals and Google Scores, were added to the scoring model. These awards and recognition are a direct result of the hard work and dedication of the staff and employees at the Kane Community Living Centers. New Fundraisers On March 18, 2023, the Kane Foundation held the 1st Annual Toss for Ross. The Toss for Ross is a cornhole fundraiser to benefit residents of Kane Ross Township. The event raised over $2,000 for the residents and everyone had a great time. The event will continue, and the staff of Kane Ross will take over event management in the future. This funding increase for Kane Ross allowed for the Kane Foundation to purchase updated outdoor furniture for the residents. Kane Glen Hazel went out into the country to sponsor their 1st annual Cow Patty Bingo! Kane Glen Hazel employees and friends came together

as a team to make the event possible. The event was wildly successful, raising over $8,000. Plans are underway to organize 2nd Annual Cow Patty Bingo. With the addition of the Cow Patty Bingo, the Kane Foundation now hosts six signature events. The foundation also holds a number of small raffles throughout the year. Memorial donations and family/friend donations account for the rest. The residents, families and employees of Kane are extremely grateful for all of the generosity that comes from the employees and citizens of Allegheny County.
