MEASURE UP m T he S unday S chool teacher of the 20th century must be highly knowledgeable. An indepth knowl­ edge of the Word of God is basic. But to be able to communicate this understanding of God’s Word will necessitate knowledge of teaching procedures and methods! I t is a t this point that many teach­ ing experiences deteriorate. Why? Because the transmission of knowledge and the changing of atti­ tudes and values do not occur automatically. A teacher must be able to overcome all of the forces work­ ing against the Christian nurture of pupils, no matter what age level. An understand of 1.) teaching methods 2.)
