RESEARCH AND INNOVATION IN ORGAN DONATION AND TRANSPLANTATION

LifeGift’s Simulation Center Expands Training for Organ and Tissue Donation LifeGift’s Institute for the Future of Transplantation Simulation Center (LIFT SIM Center) team conducted a “Physical Assessment Workshop” for clinical staff at Southwest Transplant Alliance in Dallas, Texas, marking the first external training since the LIFT Simulation Center received Provisional Accreditation. Featuring five interactive training stations led by expert facilitators, the session reinforced LifeGift’s commitment to high- quality education for donation partners. The overwhelmingly positive feedback highlights the expertise and dedication of LifeGift’s trainers, who embody the organization’s core values of passion, compassion and professionalism. Looking ahead, the LIFT team aims to expand simulation-based training to

other organ procurement organizations and healthcare facilities, further strengthening the capabilities of professionals dedicated to saving lives. A key highlight of the workshop was the debut of SAM, LifeGift’s newest training tool—an advanced auscultation manikin designed to elevate medical simulation. SAM replaces outdated methods with high-fidelity features, including an extensive auscultation library, palpable carotid pulses and integrated LED lights at auscultation points. Compatible with any clinical stethoscope and controlled via smartphone or tablet, SAM enhances the accuracy and realism of LifeGift’s training sessions. By incorporating innovative technology, LifeGift continues to lead in medical education, ensuring healthcare professionals are well-equipped to recognize and respond to critical conditions. With SAM’s capabilities, LifeGift is setting a new standard in simulation training, reinforcing its mission to save and improve lives.
