LifeGift’s 2024 Annual Report

LifeGift and the Hispanic Wellness Coalition Promote Health and Wellness LifeGift was honored to participate in four Hispanic Wellness Coalition events this past year: Primaveral Health Fair in Azle/ Springtown, Asia Times Square Health Fair in Arlington/Grand Prairie, North Texas Wellness Fair in Everman/Forest Hill/ Kennedale and Carnaval de Salud in Fort Worth. These annual events provided families with valuable healthcare resources, engaging activities, refreshments and raffles. Many

attendees visited LifeGift’s registration table to learn about organ donation and explore volunteer opportunities with the Ambassadors of Hope program. The events sparked meaningful conversations about the impact of organ donation and the importance of community involvement. LifeGift looks forward to continuing its collaboration with the Hispanic Wellness Coalition to honor the gift of donation and save lives.

HOPE THROUGH MULTICULTURAL COLLABORATION

LifeGift and the Morales Memorial Foundation Collaborate to Support Our Communities LifeGift has had the privilege of collaborating with The Morales Memorial Foundation. This past year, LifeGift supported and sponsored the Foundation’s College & Career Day, Back to School Giveaway as well as the Death by

Chocolate Event. Although each event was unique, they all had one common goal – providing support to our communities. These events engaged many in the Spanish-speaking community in Houston’s east end. Individuals in our multicultural communities make up more than half of the transplant waiting list. In contrast, a much smaller percentage register as donors or authorize donation for their loved ones due to cultural barriers, religious beliefs, misperceptions or lack of knowledge about the process.

LifeGift Participates at the Nigeria Cultural Parade and Festival LifeGift participated in the Nigeria Cultural Parade and Festival, a vibrant celebration of Nigeria’s rich and diverse heritage in downtown Houston. The event featured a variety of cultural activities, providing attendees with an immersive and engaging experience. LifeGift hosted an informational table where Ambassadors

of Hope volunteers shared their donation experiences, distributed flyers and handed out fun swag. Beyond celebrating Nigerian culture, the festival served as a meaningful opportunity to foster community connections and embrace diversity. Attendees created lasting memories while learning about Nigerian traditions and engaging with colleagues and friends. LifeGift was honored to be part of this cultural experience, reinforcing its commitment to community engagement and education.
