NEW MANAGEMENT

TEAM MEMBERS

1- Why Hotels and how did you start?

It was a complete turn of life as I was studying to become a designing engineer and on my last year in university I went for an exchange program in Greece in hospitality. I felt in love completely with the dynamics, structure and concept. Once I completed my studies I moved to Greece for the following 3 years and started my journey, from cold kitchen, pastry, restaurants to finally find my place in bar.

2- What do you enjoy most about your work?

It’s an amazing environment to work in, there’s never a dull moment, there’s always something to taste, discover, share and learn.

3- What will you be focusing on mainly in the next few months?

As a wise person said, first month observe, second plan and third execute. You will see changes in the following weeks, and one point that I will be focusing is sharing my experience and knowledge on drinks with the team and any colleagues from the hotel that wishes to expand this universe.

I collect records, I enjoy the company of a good crime or science fiction book. I like discovering new places to eat and drink. Sleeping at the beach side early morning. I tried racing and would love to do that again as a hobby. Writing a stand up comedy act.

6- Any words of wisdom regarding career that you can pass to our colleagues?

A job should not be a job, it should be defined by passion, focusing on what you want to achieve. Believe in your ideas and fight for them, make a change.

The world of hospitality is vibrant, lively and always interesting, no two days are ever the same. My first hotel job was in 2003 as a spa therapist at the Cape Grace Hotel, situated on a private quay between Cape Town’s bustling V & A Waterfront and yacht marina.
